The Royal Tour tourism campaign was launched by the country’s President Samia Suluhu’s visit to the United States with a documentary film about the country’s vast and unique tourist attractions. Since then, the President has been at the forefront and number one marketer of her country’s tourism, courting international tourists and showcasing its rich tourism assets. This year’s event also focuses on medical tourism and health insurance; two issues that organizers say need to be brought to the fore as Nigeria and other African countries are heavily discounted due to medical tourism.
