TravelTank Hosts Maiden Affiliate Forum

An online travel agency, TravelTank, organized its first affiliate forum last week.

The forum took place at the Golden Tulip Hotel on Victoria Island in Lagos State.

Present at the event were TravelTank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yemi Smith; Affiliate Manager, Mr. Jones Chukwuma; Visa and the company’s Holiday Shark, Ms. Ngozi Ogwuoke, and almost 50 partners – the pioneers of the program.

The affiliate program was launched in September 2021 to mitigate the surge in travel demand in the post-pandemic era and provide an opportunity for travel enthusiasts and professionals to generate revenue.

In the first month since its launch, no fewer than 100 affiliates have signed up.

However, by the end of the next quarter, the number had quadrupled.

During the opening remarks, CEO Smith said, “Through this forum we are creating a space to engage deeply with our partners on a personal level.

“You really have been the supportive vehicle that has brought us closer to our vision of providing travel opportunities for everyone. The business, values, contributions and suggestions they bring to us are just amazing.”

Partners manager, Jones Chukwuma, also said: “We see our partners as partners working together towards a common goal – to make travel planning and booking easy and affordable for everyone.

“We want the travel industry not to be based on making a profit, but to thrive on value-based services and open communication.

“For us at TravelTank, the pandemic has not revealed the vulnerability of the industry, it has opened more doors to greater opportunity. Our affiliate program was set up to shine a spotlight on these opportunities for those who really need them.

“TravelTank’s online affiliate platform is just part of the tools we provide to enable our third party partners to provide the best service to their customers in the most convenient way possible. We plan to continually review the platform through timely feedback exercises to ensure they are receiving the best user experience.

“Through this forum we want to celebrate the dedicated and admirable efforts of our partners, reflect on past successes and further strengthen our relationships. This forum is just the foundation for greater things to come.”

To conclude the forum, quiz and raffle draws were organized with lucky partners claiming free airline tickets and cash prizes sponsored by South African Airways and technology partner Travelport (Galileo) respectively.

In addition, United Airlines, another travel partner, has pledged a free class upgrade for customers booking a certain volume of tickets through the end of the year.
