BGF-backed Travcorp Holdings Ltd has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Kate Wadeson from Sykes Holiday Cottages.

Kate joins the online tour operator after 13 years at Sykes Holiday Cottages as Head of Marketing and brings over 20 years of travel marketing experience to the role – from direct mail to omni-channel outreach strategies. Having previously worked for The Cooperative Travel Group, Kate has extensive knowledge of the short haul, long haul and cruise markets.

At Travcorp Holdings Ltd she will be responsible for leading the company’s marketing activities including customer-centric marketing, loyalty, life cycle management, segmentation and brand awareness.

Andrew Botterill, Chief Executive Officer of Travcorp Holdings Ltd, commented: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Kate’s caliber to Travcorp after many months of searching for the ideal candidate for this important role in our growing company.

“Our aim is to become one of the largest B2C tour operators in the UK and this newly created position will be critical in taking us to the next stage of our growth trajectory. Our marketing team is already benefiting from some of the multi-million pound investment that BGF made in our business last November and we expect positive changes over the next few months as we look to further expand our team to achieve our strategic goals .”

Travcorp Holdings Ltd specializes in package holidays through its consumer brands Destination2.co.uk and HolidayGems.co.uk. The brands serve a diverse holiday market, from premium long-haul holidays to destinations such as Barbados, Dubai and the Maldives, to affordable short-haul packages to destinations such as the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Turkey and Greece.

Botterill added: “Over the next 12 months, our goal is to introduce our brands to new and important marketing channels with the sole intention of increasing brand awareness and ultimately leading to higher sales. Kate will also focus on how we reach higher levels of repeat customers with the planned launch of many new initiatives.”

Last year Travcorp Holdings Ltd raised £3.7m in equity funding led by BGF. BGF’s support, backed by a significant co-investment from Travcorp’s management team, allows the company to invest heavily in technology, marketing and new destinations while continuing to benefit from a resurgence in the travel market.

Spencer Woods, Investor at BGF and Board Member of Travcorp Holdings Ltd said: “This is an exciting and pivotal appointment for the Company and is an integral part of the strategic plans we laid out when we invested in Travcorp in November 2021. Investing in key areas of the business, such as marketing and technology, will allow the company to solidify its position in the online tour operator market and build on the strong trading results already achieved post-pandemic.”
