Spain’s new high-speed train operator Iryo 50 per cent discount

Spain’s new high-speed train operator, Iryo, has put tickets on sale at a 50 percent discount as a promotional offer.

Tickets for Spain’s new private alternative to Renfe’s AVE went on sale last Sunday 18 September. Iryo is the new high-speed rail operator funded by shareholders of Air Nostrum and Trenitalia. The rail company will begin commercial operations on November 25.

To celebrate the launch of their routes, tickets went on sale with a special “Welcome Promotion”. Travelers can save 50 percent on the cost of their first trip with Iryo by purchasing tickets online portal www.iryo.eu. To get the discount, users must first register on the site and enter the promo code iryo50 .

“Our vocation is to offer the best high-speed travel experience in Spain, betting on a true model of customization and flexibility that adapts to the needs of each traveler,” explained Simone Gorini, CEO of Iryo.

“In addition, we want to be the engine of modal change so that the train becomes the axis of sustainable mobility in Spain, which has happened in Italy since the railway sector was opened to competition,” added Gorini.

Iryo will operate routes between Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza from November 25th. A few weeks later, on December 16th, the Italian-Valencian company will start operations between Madrid, Valencia and Cuenca.

The connection to southern Spain will connect the cities of Seville, Malaga and Cordoba in the first quarter of 2023. Alicante and Albacete will be the last cities to join the Iryo network in June 2023.

Although the tickets went on sale to the public this Sunday, they have been available since September 15th through an exclusive presale offer at all travel agencies across Spain.

The exact ticket prices are not yet known because they depend on the destination and other factors, according to the company. In addition to the initial promotion, which includes a 50 percent discount, customers will find prices from €18 each way.

What the company has announced beforehand is that travelers will be able to choose between four different comfort zones. These range from the most expensive to the cheapest: Infinite, Singular Cafe, Singular, and Initial.

The “Infinita” class is designed for customers who want all premium services, including “very comfortable” seats and high quality kitchen. This is provided through the Haizea Bistro menu from which customers can choose multiple options. Haizea, meaning ‘wind’ in Basque, has its own brand of bars and restaurants on board. Specifically, the specific restaurant area has 40 seats.

The next class is “Singular Cafe by Only You”, born of Iryo’s alliance with Only You Hotels, which both companies will present together throughout October. Individual or team workstations and traditional kitchen seating are the main features of this class.

Singular classrooms, along with Singular Cafe Only You, are the class designed for business travelers and share the same dining options.

Finally, Iryo completes its offer with the “Initial” class for those looking for the cheapest possible trip. These include the availability of a latest generation 5G internet connection and free access to a content platform, as reported by larazon.es .
