When Six Senses Rome opens in early 2023, it aims to create a new awareness of sustainability and wellness in an inner-city setting. As the brand’s first hotel in Italy, it will offer a green oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Via del Corso. It enjoys a prime location in the historic center of Rome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is just a few steps from famous sights such as the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain.
With all the final touches in place, Six Senses Rome takes guests on a journey of heritage, discovery and community as the Eternal City strengthens its presence on the global tourism map with major international events in the pipeline.

A palazzo where history blends with modernity
The Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini, which Six Senses Rome calls home, is a historic building that dates back to the 15th centuryth Century. It was further developed in the following centuries and is named after the important families who once lived within its walls. Six Senses Rome has restored the original façade and monumental staircase to their grand origins in order to preserve the palazzo’s priceless heritage. The facade of the neighboring Church of San Marcello al Corso, a fine example of Italian Baroque, has also been extensively renovated and represents Six Senses Rome’s first sustainability project and its commitment to the local community.
Interiors are contemporary with sustainable architecture and design accents, featuring imaginative planting, natural light and airy open spaces. The concept is the vision of the architect Patricia Urquiola, who is known worldwide for her responsible design development and connects people emotionally with the spaces around them.
Decorated with traditional cocciopesto plasterwork and locally sourced travertine limestone, the 96 guest rooms and suites are sophisticated and cozy, with patterns and graphic elements throughout that stay true to the brand’s love of authenticity. With airy rooms, sun-drenched terraces, particularly high ceilings and historic bay windows, the focus is on well-being and conviviality.
A culinary oasis the Italian way
The BIVIUM Restaurant-Cafe-Bar on the ground floor provides a respite for guests and locals alike, serving modern Italian cuisine with a Roman twist and plenty of plant-based options. The lively lifestyle space features an open kitchen, dedicated deli corners, a Josper grill and a wood-burning stove. It opens onto an elegant terrace, ideal for networking, reading, contemplating or creating. Majestically curated by Executive Chef Nadia Frisina, locally sourced and seasonal ingredients at their finest flavor are the stars of the menu, which showcases premium regional produce.
The NOTOS Rooftop specializes in tempting bites and creative sips surrounded by an incomparable 360-degree panoramic view. The abundance of terracotta pots and aromatic plants provide a secret garden retreat unlike any other in Rome, whether for sunrise yoga or sunset aperitivo.
The Art of Roman Bathing
The Six Senses Spa brings to life its signature wellness formula while respecting centuries past. It connects international travelers with the local community through the tradition of ancient Roman bathing. The three plunge pools reproduce that calidarium, Tepidariumand Frigidarium, reduces inflammation from heat and supports muscle recovery through a 60-minute journey. A bas-relief inspired by the myth of Daphne and Apollo adorns the walls, adding pathos and evoking a bygone Roman flair.
In addition to the baths, there’s a hammam, biohacking and meditation rooms, a sauna, an outdoor yoga deck, a fitness center, and five treatment rooms (one for couples). At the Alchemy Bar there is also the opportunity to learn more about the therapeutic power of herbs and plants under the guidance of an experienced therapist.
Roma Caput Mundi for cultural experiences
Six Senses Rome is also preparing to take guests behind the walls of some of Rome’s most important cultural institutions, including the Palazzo Colonna and select galleries such as the Borghese and Doria Pamphilj. From the magic of holding the brush with Catching the Light painting classes, to exploring the mysteries of a restoration studio with Layers of Life experiences, to wandering through hidden water channels beneath the Trevi Fountain, Six Senses Rome abounds of ideas for the hands. on and multisensory art, archaeology, fashion and gastronomic wonders.
