Predicted 3-4-2-1 Tottenham Lineup vs Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur return to the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime when they travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on bitter rivals Arsenal.

Spurs have made a strong start to the new season and are just a point behind leaders Arsenal in third place. A win over arch-rivals will see them overtake Mikel Arteta’s men at the top of the Premier League.

Antonio Conte went into the break with a 6-2 win over Leicester City in mid-September, giving them confidence ahead of the North London derby.

Tottenham team news

Tottenham have suffered a major blow ahead of the derby as Hugo Lloris picked up a hamstring injury on international duty for France and has since left the camp early. Lloris remains in doubt, as does Ben Davies, who was also forced to withdraw from the Wales squad after suffering a knee injury in Spurs’ Champions League game against Sporting CP in Portugal.

Meanwhile, Lucas Moura is said to be recovering from a calf problem after the international break but the Arsenal game could come too soon for him.

Dejan Kulusevski is also likely to be out with a hamstring problem.

Expected Tottenham line-up vs Arsenal (3-4-2-1)

Tottenham could be without their key man in goal after Hugo Lloris picked up a hamstring injury during the international break. Should he fail, Fraser Forster will be called up to replace the Frenchman.

Forster, signed from Southampton on a free transfer earlier in the summer, could come under huge pressure from the Arsenal strikers in a hostile atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium.

Eric Dier has become the leader of the field in defence, so he’s sure to keep his place in Tottenham’s line-up. If Ben Davies is ruled unfit, Clement Lenglet could step in on the left side of a back three.

football formations

Cristian Romero, who came on for 90 minutes in Argentina’s 3-0 friendly win over Jamaica on Tuesday, is expected to replace the error-plagued Davinson Sanchez.

At the top of midfield, the partnership between Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur is showing signs of blossoming again. As such, Conte is unlikely to tinker with his central midfield pairing for Saturday’s north London derby.

With three assists in seven games, Ivan Perisic has hit the ground running in a Tottenham shirt. The experienced Croatian should keep his place as a right-back in Tottenham’s line-up. Ryan Sessegnon is expected to start on the opposite side.

There’s also a chance a rested Emerson Royal will start on the right, leaving Sessegnon and Perisic fighting for a spot on the left.

Son Heung-min was benched against Leicester City before coming on as a substitute and scoring a fantastic hat-trick to claim a starting role in the North London Derby. And given his record against Arsenal – eight goals in his last six games – the South Korean is likely to be called back into the Tottenham line-up.

Richarlison scored three goals in Brazil’s recent friendlies against Ghana and Tunisia respectively and will be looking to continue his impressive form. Harry Kane, Arsenal’s old nemesis, is guaranteed to lead Tottenham’s line-up at the weekend.
