— New technology enables convenient 24-hour dining without the need for staff —
ALPHARETTA, Ga., September 27, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–While hotel room night revenue is projected to reach $168.4 billion in 2022, within one percent of pre-pandemic levels of 2019, ongoing staffing shortages are expected to result in a slower recovery of revenue from food and beverage and other services, according to The American Hotel & Lodging Association 2022 State of the Hotel Industry Report. To expedite the recovery of food and beverage revenue, hotels like Morongo Casino Resort and Spa are turning to innovative technology that allows guests to reserve and pay for themselves 24/7 for additional availability and hassle-free shopping service to generate higher revenue.
Agilysys’ self-service kiosk technology now powers Morongo’s latest all-you-can-eat dining concept, The Marketplace, by Fabio Viviani. For one price, guests can enjoy unlimited dining choices, conceived by the celebrity chef and presented at seven stations representing offerings from different regions of the world.
At kiosks directly in front of the restaurant, guests can plan and pay for meals according to the day, time and number of guests of their choice. Collected points, free gifts and other offers can be redeemed at the kiosk and deducted from the restaurant costs. If the reserved table is available, the guest receives an SMS notification and registers with the restaurant manager.
Agilysys enables data from The Marketplace by Fabio Vivani’s culinary experience to be integrated into Morongo’s end-to-end food and beverage systems, as well as across the room, casino and hotel systems to analyze guest spending and to understand. The system has enhanced the all-you-can-eat dining experience by allowing diners to choose and reserve dining days and times themselves, rather than waiting in line for availability, and by allowing payment at the time of reservation processed, eliminating waiting times at the checkout. Morongo saw an immediate increase in sales of all-you-can-eat food and beverages and was able to focus employees on other areas where they are needed.
“At Morongo, the guest experience is paramount, and we appreciate the important role that technology plays in continually innovating and improving that experience,” said Richard St. Jean, Chief Operating Officer, Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. “As a trusted Morongo partner for several years and a proven provider of integrated point of sale and property management technology already at our resort, the decision to work with Agilysys to develop the POS technology at The Marketplace was obvious.”
In developing the Marketplace concept, Morongo’s technology team decided to implement solutions that would enable comfortable guest experiences while freeing up staff time to provide improved world-class guest service.
“We are delighted to have welcomed thousands of guests – both new and established – to The Marketplace since it opened,” added St. Jean. “Our self-service POS/seating system has allowed them to spend less time in line and more time enjoying the resort the way they want, whether that’s playing their favorite slots and tables, enjoying a Live band or sipping cocktails with friends. In addition, simplified line management gives our Marketplace hosts the opportunity to offer a more personalized service to our guests.”
The Morongo Casino Resort and Spa complex also uses Agilysys solutions for its core property management (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) needs, as well as mobile check-in/out, digital keys, mobile self-service dining and beverage ordering , contactless payments and accepting and tracking cashless transactions anywhere in the hotel, casino, spa and pool deck.
“We are excited to be part of the Morongo success story,” said Jeba Kingsley, Agilysys vice president of professional services. “Morongo has seen an immediate boost in sales as guests spend less time waiting in lines and more time enjoying everything the property has to offer.
