Witnessing shooter champions here in 2017, I dreamed of becoming one of them
JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Indonesia picked up a gold, a silver and a bronze medal at the 2022 IPSC French National Optic Sight Shooting Championship held September 16-17 at CNTS Chateauroux, France.
Shooting and Hunting Association (PB Perbaking) Executive Secretary Henry Oka explained here Monday that the gold medal was bagged by female shooter Sarah Ayu Tamaela in the Lady Open category.
Tamaela emerged as the top marksman in the handgun competition with 1,613,2794 points or 77.24 percent.
Tamaela defeated Yael Dagan, who finished second, with 1,359,6264 points or 65.10 percent, and Olivia Martin in third place, with 1,080,8665 points or 51.75 percent.

She admitted she didn’t believe she would become a Lady Open champion, especially in France, where she was one of the people she admired.
“Seeing Schützenmeister here in 2017 made me dream of becoming one of them,” she noted via her Instagram account on Monday.
“I’m very grateful to have come back here five years later at the 2022 IPSC French National Optic Sight and to have won first place in the Lady Open (category),” she explained.
Among the other Indonesian shooters who rode to the podium alongside Tamaela was Ronny Lukito, who bagged the silver medal in the Super Senior Open category.

He recorded 1,340,2047 points, or 64.17 percent, trailing behind Thierry Obriot, who emerged victorious, with a score of 1,357,8682, or 65.01 percent. Philippe Gilbert took third place with 1,320,1843 points or 63.21 percent.
In addition, Indonesian junior shooter Vincentius Djajadiningrat, competing in the Production Optics category, took the bronze medal with 1,866,9782 points, or 96.80 percent, behind Michal Stepan, who emerged victorious with a record score of 1,928,6228, or 100 percent, and Kahlil Adrian Viray in second place with 1,920,0583 or 99.56 percent.
Another Indonesian shooter competing in the production optics category was Christian Pratama, who placed fifth with a score of 1,743,6165 or 90.41 percent.
