For 5th Time, Flynas Wins Skytrax Award as Middle East’s Best Low-Cost Airline


Flynas, the Saudi flag carrier and the Middle East’s leading low-cost airline, won the Skytrax award for best low-cost airline in the Middle East for the fifth straight year at a forum in London on Friday, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Established in 1999, the Skytrax Award is the aviation industry’s highest honor and the premier global standard of excellence among airlines worldwide.

Bander Almohanna, CEO of Flynas, said: “Crowning Flynas as Best Low-Cost Airline in the Middle East for the fifth consecutive year with the Skytrax Award at the aviation industry’s most important global forum confirms our leadership as a national airline that lives up to the name of the Kingdom on its national day and achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 and the strategy for the civil aviation sector in Saudi Arabia.”

He stressed that this victory reflects Flynas’ commitment to operational excellence and fulfilling the desires of its traveling guests. It is also in line with the realization of its growth and expansion strategy titled “We Connect the World to the Kingdom” which included the launch of more than 16 new destinations in 2022 and growing the number of Flynas destinations to more than 70 national and international travel destinations increased .

“The Flynas fleet continues to grow as it reached 38 aircraft in the first half of 2022 and will grow to 52 aircraft by the end of 2023,” Almohanna said.

“Furthermore, the Flynas Board has approved to increase the order for new aircraft to 250 aircraft to effectively contribute to the implementation of Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation sector strategy, which aims to reach 300 million passengers and connect the kingdom with 250 international destinations by 2030,” he added.

The Skytrax Awards are presented after a multi-month evaluation that includes more than 100 countries; by conducting the world’s largest annual passenger satisfaction survey of its kind.

By winning the award for this year, Flynas now has five awards from Skytrax for Best Low-Cost Airline in the Middle East in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022.

Flynas received the highest rating in the Official Airline Rating of the non-profit organization APEX, one of the most important associations of airlines worldwide.

In the evaluation, in which 600 companies worldwide took part, Flynas was placed in the 4-star category of low-cost carriers, the highest category of low-cost airlines.

In addition, Flynas has been ranked as the Middle East’s Leading Low-Cost Airline for seven consecutive years by the World Travel Awards.
