First snow of the season

There was a surprise for local residents when the first snow of the season fell on Akdağ in Gömbe district of Kaş, Uludağ in Bursa and on Mount Erciyes in Kayseri.

The snow fell on Akdağ on Friday night at an altitude of 2700m and was seen by local shepherd Oğuz Topaloğlu, who took a picture before the snow melted.

The first snow of the season also fell on Uludağ, one of the main centers of winter tourism.

Locals went to the summit to watch the snowfall, although some were surprised by the sub-zero temperatures.

This is reportedly the first time locals have seen snow in September. The first snow usually falls in October.

The first snow of the season also fell on the peaks of Mount Erciyes in Kayseri.

Snow also fell in Erciyes last night, where parts of the mountain higher than 3,000 meters were covered with a white blanket. The snow thickness reached 8 centimeters in places. In the districts of Hacılar, Kıranardı and Hisarcik at the foot of the mountain, the temperature dropped to 7 degrees at night.
