Colas invests in Parkki,

a start-up specializing in intelligent mobility

Colas, through its road equipment subsidiary Aximum, has acquired a 56% stake in start-up Parkki, a partnership that demonstrates Colas’ strong focus on developing solutions for smart, connected mobility.

Founded in 2016 in Lille, France1, Parkki is a start-up company revolutionizing mobility experiences by centralizing information and creating unique travel assistance services for users. Since its launch, Parkki has supported more than 50 customers, including major retailers such as Auchan, Carrefour, Leclerc, Leroy Merlin and others. Parkki will work closely with Aximum, a Colas group company with nearly 2,000 employees.

The project brings together complementary expertise at Aximum, which has a strong local network specializing in traffic signs, signals and safety solutions, traffic flow management and optimized mobility, and at Parkki, which develops a range of parking, traffic flow and metering services. With Parkki’s capabilities in data collection and analysis and Aximum’s know-how, local authorities will benefit from new mobility optimization service solutions tailored to specific local use cases.

The partnership will reinforce the Colas Group’s actions in favor of a dynamic, collaborative and peaceful management of public spaces, in particular digital and service solutions developed by its Mobility by Colas unit. Colas clearly contributes to local communities growing and becoming more attractive while at the same time meeting the needs and challenges of sustainable development.

By strengthening our relationship with Parkki, we aim to develop Aximum’s innovative offerings for local authorities, offering them parking management solutions, solving new mobility challenges and thereby reducing carbon emissions. explains Sandra Chabrier Breil-Martin, CEO of Aximum.

After several years of continued growth in the retail sector, we are excited and proud of this partnership with Colas, which opens a new and very promising chapter in Parkki’s history. The merger has two objectives: to advance our development in the retail market thanks to the support of the group and to join forces to build the leading player in intelligent mobility in France and Europe for municipalities and regions, explains Pierre-Julien Harbonnier, CEO of Parkki.
