Black Tomato Debuts James Bond-Inspired Travel Itineraries

Since the notorious exceptional spy James Bond premiered in 1962 with “Dr. No,” viewers were mesmerized by his world of daring missions, devious villains, beautiful women and Vesper martinis (shaken, not stirred, of course). Now, to celebrate 60 years of 007, the creators of the long-loved franchise have secured their first-ever travel partner, Black Tomato, to collaborate on private Bond-inspired travel experiences, beginning with a multi-country itinerary in Europe.

Marchant tells men’s magazine that he and his team at Black Tomato have long admired the touchpoints that represent Bond: elegant and sophisticated, daring and effortlessly cool. “In return, we are deeply committed to creating truly remarkable, out-of-this-world travel experiences that reflect his inimitable charisma.”

To plan The Assignment: Europe, the debut travel experience for Bond, Black Tomato worked closely with EON Productions, speaking to their longtime location scouts who worked on the actual productions. The result is a 12-day voyage that pays tribute to 007’s inimitable style, taking intrepid travelers to multiple European locations by car, boat and seaplane.

“As a brand, we share a passion for storytelling, adventure and striving to provide our customers with an excellent experience where only the best is good enough. ‘The Assignment: Europe’ represents the union of the carefully crafted and curated world of Bond with the rich travel narrative that is present in all films from their inception 60 years ago to the present day.”

While some details about the trip remain top secret, we do know that it will begin in Bond’s hometown of London, with artfully curated experiences spanning arts, culture and adventure with uncompromising luxury.

A guaranteed place to visit next to Londontown is Lake Como, with experiences inspired by the 1989 film Licence to kill. Departing from the private jetty of a luxury hotel, guests take part in a private master class in the 007 skill of water skiing along the Moltrasio coast before boarding a private seaplane with a world champion glider pilot to fly over some of Italy’s most picturesque towns like Bellagio and Varenna.

Other Bond-inspired highlights include flying over the villain Mr. White’s villa La Gaeta lake house and strolling through the gardens of Villa del Balbianello, both of which were filmed in the 2006 film Casino royale. The program concludes at the famous Casino de Monte-Carlo in Monaco, where guests have exclusive access to the casino’s private rooms for an evening of gambling.
