DENPASAR, Bali (ANTARA) – The provincial government of Bali shared details of its readiness to hold the 2022 G20 summit with the Indian delegation as the country next takes over the G20 presidency.
Bali Deputy Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati (Cok Ace) explained to the coordinator of the Indian delegation here on Friday the readiness of the hotels to be used during the G20 summit in Bali.
“All hotels used for G20 must pass six assessment parameters including completeness of infrastructure, understanding of disasters, early warning systems, ability to respond to disasters, disaster mitigation and security,” noted Cok Ace.
He pointed out that these parameters were about efforts to prepare hotels in Bali for disasters such as fires, riots and natural disasters during the G20 event and their readiness to evacuate guests with full equipment.

Regarding the hotel’s disaster preparedness readiness, the feasibility assessment process was completed by the Bali Hotel Association (BHA), the Bali Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), the National Police, Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and Search and Rescue carried out team (SAR), noted Cok Ace.
In addition, security in these hotels has been guaranteed with a certificate from the Bali Police. Hotels and villas were also required to have a Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) certificate.
Cok Ace noted that the local government has also issued an ordinance of the governor regarding traditional village security, optimizing the role and function of traditional security or pecalang in securing traditional villages in Bali.

Meanwhile, the G20 coordinator of the Indian delegation, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, commended the Indonesian government, particularly the provincial government of Bali, for preparing accommodation for the G20 summit delegation.
“Bali is a very popular tourist destination. Holding the G20 Summit in Bali is the right decision as it has adequate infrastructure,” Shringla said.
The G20 coordinator of the Indian delegation noted that the exchange of information with the provincial government of Bali is necessary to help his side in preparing for the upcoming G20 summit in 2023 in India.
Shringla also commended Bali for being able to work with village officials to take part in securing the G20 summit.
