Luxury cruise line Azamara has announced the cruise line’s grand return to Venice, commencing April 3, 2023. The return is part of Azamara Journey’s 12-night cruise The Best of The Med Voyage, a cruise highlighting the history, culture and beauty of Venice across the Mediterranean, sailing from Spain to Italy.
From Spring 2023, the line’s four-ship fleet will call at the ports of Chioggia and Fusina on the Venice Lagoon, giving guests easy access to the beautiful city of Venice, where they can tour the gondolas and stroll the cobblestone streets.
“Thanks to our long-standing relationship with Venice’s local officials and port authorities, we are delighted not only to bring our guests back to this historic canal city, but also to give them the opportunity to discover the wonders of neighboring towns such as Chioggia, which only smaller ships can take them visit,” said Mike Pawlus, Director of Strategic Itinerary & Destination Planning at Azamara. “We look forward to re-immersing our guests in the rich local culture and amazing historical sites that the destination has to offer.”
Easy access to the heart of Venice is just the beginning of Azamara’s recent travel achievements. Azamara continues to search for hidden gems for guests to experience during their stay in Chioggia. Chioggia has recently seen a significant surge in tourism, with a little help from ‘bacari’ bars serving wine and finger food along the central Riva Vena canal. Tourists can stroll through the city and admire the historic churches and buildings, beautiful sandy beaches and discover hidden gems.
