Yeow Hui Lenggroup project leader, ATF describes to Presario: “Our Operations team is now busy working with event partners to ensure a safe Comeback Edition for all of our attendees. Although wearing a face mask is currently (from September 23) optional in Singapore (except for public transport and health facilities) and life is almost returning to the pre-COVID era with international trade fairs and conferences opening every two weeks, we will nonetheless take every precaution to ensure everyone is well taken care of.
According to the executive, there is a “positive outlook” that travel restrictions for many Asian areas will be further eased as the region nears the end of 2022. “As this is also the first time ATF is returning in person after 2 years, we expect attendees to have more one-on-one sessions throughout the 3 day event to boost projects that have been discussed online over the last 2 years to Making deals happen and turning projects into reality,” she said.
“We are encouraged by the overwhelming response for the market. Although there are still some travel restrictions in some Asian areas at present, the majority of 2019 buyers have already committed to attend the ATF from now on. ATF is one of the few content markets to be physically held in Asia this year, so our attendees are eager to continue business as usual. Additionally, people, businesses and dynamics have all evolved in recent years, making it extremely important to meet as many local people as possible now in December. In this way, the industry can start 2023 with new perspectives and renewed confidence.”
This year’s theme is “Content is Still King” and revolves around the notion that quality content is pushing boundaries – and that includes the pandemic – and remains the driving force behind any successful studio and/or platform. “In line with this, we have curated a three-day conference that will include discussions and showcases on content, focusing on exclusive insights and strategic vision for 2023 – what this means for the evolution of the industry today; its creative challenges and the genius of business models. As Asian content emerges around the world, we hope to facilitate conversations between participants about opportunities to collaborate, acquire, co-produce and fund future projects.’
“ATF has launched a new pitch with Indonesian streaming platform Vidio, where developers are welcome to submit their projects based on a set of relevant criteria suitable for entering the Indonesian market. This is similar to the ATF Chinese Pitch, which ATF has been holding in partnership with GHY since 2018,” said Hui Leng.
And she concluded: “We will continue to provide ATF Online+ to complement ATF’s in-person event. This online extension serves as a digital presence extension platform for sellers to showcase the programs they offer and to facilitate the scheduling of meetings with potential partners.
