With its renewed La Premier amenity kit, AirFrance works in the cabin – this time with a focus on amenity kits Business Class and Premium Economy.
Like most amenity kits, these are offered in business class and Premium economy on the airlines’ long-haul segments. With reusability being an important issue, the kits are designed with an eco-friendly approach so they can be stored, collected and reused after the flight
Let’s look at those business class kit first.
The new business kit features a herringbone pattern and is available in two colors, navy blue and beige.
It also features the winged seahorse – Air France’s logo. The red zipper is another branding touch to top it off. This kit is made from 96% recycled material. Content:
- A toothbrush and pen made from corn stalks and earplugs wrapped in kraft paper to avoid using plastic on board;
- For extra comfort during the trip, a large, soft sleeping mask, a pair of socks and a tube of toothpaste;
- Two cosmetic products from our Air France partner Clarins: the rejuvenating hand cream and the Hydra-essentiel Moisturizing Cooling Face Gel (travel size).
meanwhile in premium economy, there are two models with a mixture of deep blue and wide white stripes.
Once again, the red zipper reminds us of the airline’s signature accent. The kit is made from 89% recycled material.
It includes a cornstalk toothbrush, a tube of toothpaste, earplugs wrapped in kraft paper, plus a pair of socks and a night mask.
Availability
These kits are now flying with the airline and will be available on board for a period of 18 months. Their content will be renewed during this time to continue offering more and more environmentally conscious accessories.
Reducing further waste in the cab
Air France is taking further steps to reduce the waste generated in the cabin. As we all know, the first step to reducing waste is to not take the kit at all. But if you take the kit, the plastic packaging of each kit has been replaced with an integrity seal in all cabins.
In addition, by systematically cleaning and disinfecting headphones, Air France has eliminated the disposable headphone cases and packaging previously offered.
As airlines look to reduce their impact on the environment, there are small steps they can take in the cabin to further reduce plastic (and other in-flight) waste.
