On the spectacular stage of Flight deck of the aircraft carrier Cavour, Moto Guzzi and the Italian Navy celebrate the close bond that has united them for more than a hundred years.
The spread eagle, the unmistakable emblem of Moto Guzzi since its foundation in 1921, dates back to the military service of company founders Carlo Guzzi and Giorgio Parodi in the Aeronautical Arm of the Italian Royal Navy during the First World War. During the war, the two friends and pilot Giovanni Ravelli decided to go into motorcycle manufacturing after the end of the conflict. Ravelli died in an accident in 1919 and was unable to realize his dream. Guzzi and Parodi chose the eagle as a symbol in memory of their companion.
The event was an emotional occasion, which also included the world premiere of the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale, a numbered special limited edition of the latest addition to the Moto Guzzi family. A technology-rich motorcycle that becomes even more eye-catching in this exclusive version, bringing together two great names with inseparable links to Italy’s history.
The project was made possible thanks to Difesa Servizi SpA, an internal company of the Italian Ministry of Defense which, over the past 10 years, has been responsible for optimizing the Ministry’s assets, granting Moto Guzzi the use of the “Aviazione Navale” sign for the production of the V100 Mandello Aviation Navale.

F-35B fighter aircraft. The graphics are a faithful reproduction of the aircraft, with the insignia on either side of the cowl, along with the signature “Jet Intake” stripes. The livery is enhanced by a low-visibility tricolor rosette on the sides of the fuel tank, the emblem of the Italian Naval Aviation and the logo of the Boarded Aircraft Unit.
Standard features include a tire pressure monitoring system and heated grips, while the serial number is laser etched on the riser. Each of the bikes comes with its own Home page and a plaque.
Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello
The Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello opens a completely new chapter in the company’s history; it defies conventional categorization and combines brilliant performance with the travel vocation that is at the heart of every Moto Guzzi two-wheeler.

The V100 Mandello is also the first Moto Guzzi motorcycle to be powered by the new compact block engine with sophisticated technical characteristics. The tradition is maintained by the 90° V-Twin architecture that guarantees Moto Guzzi’s unique torque delivery and inimitable sound, but the project is completely new and offers impressively brilliant performance: power of 115 hp and torque of 105 Nm, with 82 % are already available at 3,500 rpm.

The flight deck extends from bow to stern with a runway parallel to the longitudinal axis of the carrier and a ski jump to ensure aircraft can take off with maximum payload. The hangar is designed for up to 12 helicopters or alternatively 8 airplanes. Handling between the hangar and flight deck is via two 30-ton elevators. The Cavour has a permanent crew of 550 sailors and can accommodate up to 1,200.
