Here are the top stories from Alpharetta-Milton today:
- Attention all GA 400 drivers – the speed limit for one section has been reduced to 55 mph. The affected area is in Alpharetta County between Haynes Bridge Road, north of Atlanta. New speed limits are in place for all northbound and southbound lanes and signs are posted on the highway. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Congratulations to Elliott Austin of the Alpharetta Fire Department. He was recently appointed Assistant Manager of Fire Training. Allen, a fire apparatus engineer, is also the commander of the department’s HazMat team. He joined the Alpharetta Fire Department 5.5 years ago. (Alfaretta Department of Public Safety via Facebook)
- The whole C transition of Milton City Fire Department (four stations) was treated to a delicious dinner by the members of Vision Baptist Church on Saturday. The meal was BBQ plus banana pudding for dessert! If your group would like to do something similar for police officers, firefighters, ambulance drivers, etc., please contact Steve Cory at stephe[email protected] (City of Milton)
- Sam’s Sushi & Japanese Restaurant in nearby Duluth didn’t score well in a recent inspection. Parasitism was not documented for several species, including tuna and sea cucumber. In addition, there was mold around the ice machine and live fish tank. Some food items were improperly stored in the refrigerator. As a result, this restaurant must fully cook everything on the menu until the parasite documents are created and confirmed. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
